For a deep-dive into Lean topics specific to your role, participate in 2-hour courses on Monday during the learning day sessions. These virtual sessions are great opportunities to interact with instructors and other attendees through a live chat where attendees are able to ask content related questions and participate in small group breakout discussions. Attendees can reference the track and experience level of each learning day session to choose accordingly.

The LCI Research Committee is offering three 90 minutes sessions on Tuesday to hear about and contribute to three of their initiatives.

Updating and Expanding the Last Planner System®
8:30 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.
This LCI-funded research presents preliminary results seeking to extend the functions the Last Planner System® is designed to support, plus improve the performance of current functions in these areas: project master planning, phase planning, learning from breakdowns, metrics development, and LPS in design.

Defining a Lean Deployment Planner Procedure
10:30 a.m. – Noon
This LCI-funded research project is designed to help project teams define a consistent approach toward planning the integration of Lean principles into delivery processes. A structured process for Lean deployment planning.

Validation: A Structured Approach for the Owner to Validate their Business Case Description
1:00 p.m. – 2:30 p.m.
Lessons learned and implementation guide to project validation.

Validation is a critical step in the early phase of a project. This research seeks to develop a practical implementation guide, along with sharing lessons learned from leading organizations that are practicing effective validation.

This year’s general session includes breakout presentations, keynote speakers, live labs, virtual Gemba tours and networking opportunities. The core program includes 4 different tracks catering to Lean experience levels ranging from fundamental to experienced. There is something for everyone no matter where you are in your Lean journey at the 2021 Congress!

Friday, Oct. 22

Be sure to add a virtual Gemba walk into your schedule on Friday, October 22nd. This is a great opportunity to see some Lean concepts discussed during the week put into action on a real project.

This year’s virtual program has so many networking opportunities built into the schedule including a virtual happy hour, 1-on-1 chat capability with other attendees, virtual exhibit hall and interactive live chats in every session.
